May we present: the barbecue season must-have! From apples to onions this versatile spicy spread is a delicious barbecue companion. Our balsamic and onion chutney provides you with the best of both worlds, a delicious salad and skewer companion and an extra special spread.

To create our unique balsamic and onion chutney we caramelise fresh onions and refine them with chilli, oregano and salt before we deglaze the mixture with balsamic and red wine. Last but not least we boil the mixture down with refined sugar and agave syrup for ultimate preservation. The result is a glass full of sweet and sour sauce with a hint of caramelised onions.  Spicy, but not too hot and of course vegan!

What is chutney?

Chutney is commonly known as a spicy, sweet-sour combination of sauce, jam and spread that originally comes from India. Similar to making marmalade, fruit and vegetables are boiled down with spices and traditionally served with rice or curry. Commonly known varieties are tomato-chutney, pear-chutney, courgette-chutney and most of all fig- and mango-chutney. Especially the fruity chutneys are an excellent barbecue companion!
