A history lesson for your palate: have you ever wondered how Incas and Aztecs dined? Here is your opportunity: we went on an Indiana Jones style trip into the deep jungle to find exotic gold for you... alright, maybe it wasn't exactly like that. And we actually get our grainy powerhouse in India, not South America, where this wonder grain also grows naturally. What matters is the outcome: an enormous serving of organic amaranth. The millet-like amaranth grains have been an integral part of many Latin American cuisines for more than 3,000 years, and today it is impossible to imagine a balanced diet without them. The crop comes from the Amaranthaceae family. Due to its taste, you can process the Aztec grain in many different ways: You like hearty meals? This golden treasure from Mother Nature is a true source of protein and fiber. As long as you consume amaranth in normal amounts during pregnancy, we do not see any problem. However, if you are unsure, you should always seek the advice of your doctor.
Even if the power grain from tropical regions of the world is a real sun worshipper, you should store it in any case protected from light, in a dry place to enjoy the complete 2 kg giant. The minimum shelf life is 18 months from the date of production in the original sealed packaging.
The amaranth plant originated in Central and South America and has been a staple food there for several thousand years. How did the golden Aztec treasure come to us? During the expansion of corn cultivation, it snuck aboard ships bound for Europe as a stowaway and eventually made its way onto our plates. But many of the more than 40 different species of the foxtail plant are also at home in Asia. Of course, it is also their good reputation that has made them indispensable for us. Over the years, amaranth has become so well established that it may even be possible to grow it in Germany, in your own garden. Our amaranth comes from India, where it feels most comfortable due to the climate - of course from 100% organic cultivation.
Our amaranth grains are 100% vegan and therefore a perfect alternative to animal protein. Due to their fine roasted note, they can be wonderfully combined in a variety of ways. Browse through our Food Journal and get inspired!
100 g of our organic amaranth contain 380 kcal. You can find more information about the average nutritional values per 100 g in tabular form or as a PDF file under "Specification" directly on the product page.
For the sake of Mother Nature: Our amaranth comes from India, from 100% organic cultivation.
Amaranth is not for nothing called the "grain of the Incas and Aztecs". Our amaranth grains are ideal for a balanced diet, as they can be combined with a wide variety of cuisines. They are the perfect portion of Inca power in savory dishes but also sweet treats. Preparing amaranth is child's play: the tiny grains are very thirsty. Similar to quinoa or millet, you cook it with three times the amount of water - first boil the water, then add the amaranth grains and simmer for about 20 to 30 minutes. In addition to the inspirations already mentioned in the product text, you can find more delicious ideas in our Food Journal - for example, delicious buckwheat pancakes with amaranth. Let your taste run free!
Small but mighty: No wonder that amaranth was an integral part of the diet of the Aztecs and Incas, because the small grains are a true source of protein with a remarkable content of 15 g protein per 100 g. Therefore, the power grain can be wonderfully integrated as a neutral battery charger in numerous dishes after a power-sapping workout.
Drop pounds Aztec style: Weight loss goals are primarily achieved through a daily calorie deficit. In addition to a remarkable amount of protein, our amaranth can also score with a high fiber content.
Our amaranth may contain traces of gluten, other nuts and sesame.

POWERKORN - Gold of beekeepers, small money for the small grain.

Here, too, the question arises: Why spend a lot of money on small packages when Koro offers a lot of product for little money?!

Top quality at an unbeatable price !

As almost always (98%) I am super satisfied with this product. You can feel the superior organic quality and the price is also good. Consider that at the supermarket here in Italy they only sell small quantities of amaranth and it costs much more in comparte. Thank you Koro you are great
