Tasty recipes for your (vegan) ice cream
You now have an ideal storage container, but how do you actually make your own ice cream? It is possible to make ice cream without an ice cream maker: the base for ice cream is usually cream and milk - for a vegan version coconut milk or a plant-based drink. The liquid component is heated in a saucepan with sugar or erythritol in a 1:1 ratio. Egg yolk provides a good binding agent. A vegan alternative is 1-2 tsp guar-gum. You can then add the flavouring of your choice to the mixture. Besides the vanilla classic, chocolate, fruity chocolate, fruchtige raspberries or spectacular spirulina powder can add sophistication to your ice cream. Once you have decided on the right ingredients, pour the mixture into our (pre-cooled) ice cream container and allow it to cool before placing it in the freezer. After an hour, start taking the ice cream out every 30 minutes and stirring it. Continue this until the creamy ice cream is ready to serve after about 4 hours.
You could also make your own nice cream: you only need frozen fruit, milk or a plant-based drink and toppings. Simply puree them and snack away.
