Organic chaga mushroom powder: origin
Chaga is particularly well known in Russian folk medicine. In Germany, we know the mushroom as Schiefer Schillerporling and in the UK you sometimes call it black mass. It grows widely in the Nordic-European countries, as well as in Japan and Canada. Strictly speaking, the Chaga mushroom is a parasite, as it grows on the trunks of deciduous trees and lives off the nutrients of its host. As soon as the fungus, including the root, is separated from the tree, the tree slowly dies. In appearance, the fungus resembles a large burnt area. If the mushroom is used for medicinal purposes, only the fruiting bodies, i.e. not the root of the mushroom, are removed from beech trees and processed.
Chaga mushroom powder dosis
For our organic Chaga powder, we use only the fruiting bodies of the mushroom. The mushrooms are dried and then gently ground. As Chaga powder is a food supplement*, we recommend taking a maximum of one teaspoon of the powder every day. This corresponds to an amount of about 3 g of the fine brown powder.
