Freeze-dried raspberries - how does it work?

We are really happy that we discovered this process! Because the particularly gentle freeze-drying process is pretty cool and makes for a phenomenally fruity taste experience in a class of its own. A bit too much? We think not! In the freeze-drying process, the berries are deep-frozen immediately after harvesting and packed into a vacuum container. Under strong negative pressure, all the water in the container escapes over several hours in the form of water vapour. What remains is a very concentrated form of the raspberry. What is so special about it? The colour, aroma and taste are very intense and unadulterated - for that extra kick of raspberry and that extra portion of crunch. We then dip the finished berries individually in dark chocolate: skinny dipped for the absolutely perfect chocolate coating. The irresistible snack is ready to be enjoyed!

How does freeze-drying work and what is the benefit?

Freeze-drying is a particularly gentle preservation process in which the berries are deep-frozen directly after harvesting and placed in a vacuum container. Due to the strong negative pressure, the water is removed from the raspberries inside for several hours. The result is a crisp, concentrated form of the berry whose ingredients remain unchanged. Another plus: the color, aroma and flavor are particularly intense and unadulterated.

How should I store the dark chocolate raspberries?

Keep them in a cool, dry place. In their original unopened package, they will last for 12 months from production date.

Are the chocolate raspberries vegan?

Dried raspberries have a very aromatic taste, and they add a sweet and fruity touch to your porridge, yoghurt, or salad.

In 2018, around 870,000 tons of raspberries were harvested, led by the world's largest producer, Russia. Two varieties of raspberries exist, also called summer and autumn varieties, which are harvested between June and October. Raspberries are low in sugar and therefore in calories, and contain important vitamins and minerals. Since they should be consumed immediately after harvesting, there are now many products that make raspberries durable without loss of quality and additives.
