The best protein powder for you

You have to drag heavy weights around the gym and then run a marathon on the weekend. That's the only true way to qualify for protein powder, right? Wrong! Our protein powder is for everyone, whether you're hitting the weights every day or prefer to chill on the couch, eat a vegetarian/vegan diet or not. Whether you drink protein shakes to lose weight, build muscle, maintain weight or for pleasure: We want to provide you with the tastiest protein powder so that you can easily cover your daily protein requirements. Because: Protein contributes to the increase of muscle mass. Protein also helps maintain normal bones.

The DGE (German society for nutrition) recommends a daily intake of 0.8 g protein/kg body weight for adults from 19 to under 65 years of age. Above this age, an estimated value of 1.0 g/kg body weight per day is recommended. Many athletes set their daily protein goal even higher. Protein powder can help you if you are struggling to meet your protein intake. Or you can use it as a support before or after exercise. You can also use our protein powders for baking, cooking, as a protein shake or mixed with your muesli, porridge or yoghurt. That's why we have something for every occasion in our shop: For protein shakes, we recommend our vegan vanilla protein powder or the vegan chocolate protein powder. If you want to bake cakes with extra protein, the best options are our organic hemp protein, organic pea protein or organic rice protein. Our organic lupin protein can be used as a vegan egg alternative, and the organic pumpkin protein gives every smoothie and extra dose of flavour and protein!

Neutral protein powders & organic protein powders with no sweeteners

These protein powders have it all: our hemp protein, pea protein, rice protein and lupin protein all consist of a single (self-explanatory) ingredient and therefore taste neutral to slightly nutty. This also means: we haven't added any sweeteners or sugar. They just naturally contain a little sugar. What's more, they are all delivered to your door in the best organic quality. You can use them wonderfully in smoothies, for cooking and baking or as a topping for your muesli. You can find the right recipe ideas for your value packs in our Food Journal.

You can easily pimp your next chocolate cake with pea protein. After your workout, treat yourself to a banana protein shake with soy crispies and hemp protein, and use our rice protein to mix with yogurt and spread on bread for a quick protein bite. Our lupin protein is even suitable as an egg substitute for vegan recipes. Mix one tablespoon of the powder with 30 ml of water and let it swell. Et voilà, the lupin egg is ready!

Mixed protein powders for protein shakes

Listen here: our vegan vanilla and chocolate protein powders live by “Shake it off!”. They know exactly how to make your next protein shake so irresistibly creamy and sweet that shaking becomes your new favourite sport! By the way, don't count on the usual sticky lumps you might expect in a basic protein shake. We've also gone full throttle when it comes to nutrients: By using three different protein components (rice protein, pea protein and soy protein), we provide excellent muscle food after sports. In addition to vitamin D and vitamin B12, we have also added folic acid and biotin. Besides shakes, you can also make delicious snacks with the protein powders. For example, make some protein balls with your favourite nuts (and chocolate?) or mix the powder with yoghurt or porridge to make a sweet bowl. You should only be careful when baking, sucralose should not be heated strongly. In this case, our protein powders without sweeteners are the better choice!

Vegan protein powder or whey protein: which is better?

Whey protein powder contains whey protein, which is obtained from cow's milk. The advantage: Whey protein is a readily available source of protein, as it contains all essential and non-essential amino acids. Especially the three branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), which are particularly important for muscle building. These are valine, leucine and isoleucine. Whey also has a high biological value. This describes the efficiency with which the ingested proteins can be converted into the body's own proteins. However, a high biological value does not automatically mean a high quality of the food, but only serves as an indicator for the variety and the occurrence of contained amino acids. It can, however, serve as an aid in the assessment of protein-rich foods.

In contrast, vegan protein powders consist only of plant-based ingredients. This means that no animal products are involved, and the powders are also lactose-free and therefore suitable for lactose intolerants. Soy protein is one of the few complete protein sources in plant-based nutrition. This means that it has a complete amino acid profile and therefore contains all the amino acids that are essential for humans. Soya protein is therefore in no way inferior to whey protein in this respect. To achieve the most complete amino acid profile possible, different vegan protein powders are often mixed, such as in our vanilla protein powder. This consists of soy, pea and rice protein.
