How can I use corn couscous?
The name "couscous" comes from the Arabic word "kuskusu", which means "crushed" or "ground". As you can probably already guess, this refers to the production process. Traditionally, couscous was made from flour obtained from cereals, maize, rice, lentils or chickpeas. These were first moistened and then processed into small grains by rolling or grinding. Couscous is often made from durum wheat semolina, but for our gluten-free couscous we use 100% corn. And with this corn variety, you can prepare many different dishes, as you would with our organic couscous or pearl couscous. How about a hearty couscous salad, for example? Combine our couscous with fresh vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumber, peppers or onions and refine everything with a dressing of olive oil, lemon juice and spices. Couscous is great as a stuffing, as a side dish or as a base for a roast. You can use it with different vegetables, tofu or other meat alternatives. You can even use the corn couscous for breakfast bowls or sweet desserts. Mix our cooked couscous with honey, nuts, dried fruit and yogurt.
